A mighty Sorcerer in an attempt to better himself by removing any trace of badness within himself, wrought a spell to complete this task. Something went wrong and instead he separated his good side from his evil one. Yen the good side and Yang the evil side. Yang escaped and made an alliance with Asmodeus who bestowed the powers of Chaos upon Yang enabling him to throw the land into total chaos in preparation for the final plan of bringing his master, Asmodeus, to the plain of the living.

Yang began to work his craft upon the once magnificent land turning peace and order into total Chaos. In order to prevent anyone from finding him and thwarting his plans to conjure up his new master, Yen cast a vile spell that rips and twists the land upon sun down every day. Hence forth, even the greatest of adventures seeking to right his wrongs have perished being lost into his beloved Chaos Land.

CONCEPTS:

First off, as you read this you'll be thinking, how are you gonna even live through this! That's the challenge! This idea is for a high level PCs only land and even then I want to see it as a very treacherous place for even the likes of the great Snafu.

Part of the Chaos concept would be to randomize the lands somehow at every reset. Maybe not all the lands but at least everything in the Chaos Plain. Also, the crits will have random attributes (immunites, spells, skills, etc) and most all if not all having NV.

There is several places you could implement PC controlled crits. For example, say the very rare but deadly beast that is sometimes found on the Mountain of the Ages, the lava beast, one of the many high level NPCs, the Sentinel, etc etc. The PC controlled crit could show up from time to time depending on PC availability.

It will be very hard to just get to Yang and I don't see him nor do I want to as a facet killing type crit. It *SHOULD* involve great efforts (questing for items just to hurt him and to even enter his lair) that are almost as treacherous as the actual goal (defeating Yang) itself.

Since the crits would be *VERY* deadly here and this would have to be a land for high levels, I would say the average crit would give about 20k exp depending. For the even deadlier more. For the lair crits and special crits I would say 50-500k or so. (would have to be balanced out depending on actual degree of difficulty and time involved to kill - if it takes you 10 minutes to kill one rock golem and you only get 20k exp whats the point? You could have hunted the Yasnaki level and earned 200k experience in that same 10 minutes)

These are my ideas and as such I reserve the right to ramble and to just all in all sound like a babbling idiot. ;-)

CRITS:

Good Sorcerer Yen - The good counterpart to the Evil Yang. Involved in some quests.

Ancient One - Quest related NPC. Lives on the Mountain of the Ages.

Ancient Smithy - Quest related NPC. Lives within the Volcanic Rift.

Evil Sorcerer Yang - Can ONLY be hurt by the Mystical Weapon or by magic from someone wearing the Mystical Amulet.

Some of his Spells:
* Mind Control - Can take over control of a PC. Saving against it depends on their level, Int, and Con stats. (there may be a special quest artifact that yields a resistance or protection against this)
* Quake - Knocks everything down on a 6x6 grid repeatedly for several rounds.
* Dragons Breath
* Whirl Wind
* Poison Cloud

Sentinel - A truly dreadful creatures that was sent by Asmodues to serve Yang.

Lesser Demons - Various twisted forms that wreak various havoc with spells.

The Maze Minotaur - This mino wanders the maze and has a special charge attack that can hit around 180 HPs. His average attack hits for 125HPs, is immune to ALL magic attacks, and has around 2000 HPs.

The Guardian - An oriental style dragon(the elongated body, more of a serpentile form) that guards the entrance to the Chaos Plain which houses the Minotaurs Maze and the lair of Yang. You will have to quest for whatever the Dragon desires before he will consider to even let you pass. Plus, if he find you annoying, he may just kill you. You can attack him and kill if him you so choose. He has Dragons Breath (any of the 3 to choose from and the lightning DB does about 60hps of damage per round) and around 10000 HPs and hits like Mama.

Evil Demons - Similar to the regular demons (Damballa, Pazuzuz, etc) but have more HPs and are more powerful. (like that of when summoned in Leng) They tend to pop up all over the lands but tend to be more deadly the deeper you venture into the Volcanic Rift.

Evil and Chaotic Thieves - Have an inate hide like the Ninjas in Shidoshas lair. They are at least Expert in bow/dagger and use venom among other spells.

Evil and Chaotic NPCs - All classes equivalent to level 17 players or so and able to use a wide array of skills and spells.

Rock Golems - Similair to that of the Axe Gaint in strength and fighting power but do to there rock form are very hard to hit and unaffectded by magics (and yes immune to Ice Spears). Where there is one, you will always at least encounter another.

Harpies - These twisted creatures dwell amist the Mountain of the Ages and travel in large swarms to devour whatever prey they can find. They tend to raid the nearby town and plains when they get hungry enough.

ITEMS:

Mystical Rune or Order - You must gather the artifacts needed and take them to the Yen to have him combine them. This is needed to break the seal on the entrance to the Evil Sorcerers lair and can only be used once.

Mystical Weapon of Order - A non-aligned weapon that emits a greenish glow. You must gather the three pieces from throughout the land and take them to the Ancient Smithy that dwells within the Volcanic Rift for him to combine them and create the weapon. This will be the ONLY weapon capable of hurting the Evil Sorcerer.

Mystical Amulet of Order - In order to be able to hurt the Evil Sorcerer with ANY magic you must wear this amulet. You must climb/survive the Mountain of the Ages to seek an audience with the Ancient One that resides there. You must then seek and audience with the Ancient One and answer his riddle to see if your worthy of gaining possession of the amulet.

NOTES:

Both mystical items are only used for battling the Evil Sorcerer and will vanish upon defeat of the Evil Sorcerer.

Hints to the answers to the different riddles will be found in scrolls throughtout the land-somewhat rare scrolls and the riddles changing fairly consistantly.

AREAS IN THE LAND:

Town - The town is severely battered and practically destroyed from the powers of chaos. Creatures regularly roam in and slaughter the local inhabitants(including NPCs like balm/recall sells). Only the Tower of Order is protected against the minions of chaos by a powerful spell placed there by Yen. This spell is such that even having 1 Karma will prevent you from entering. (Thieves may enter)

Desolate Plains - These once thriving forests of great bounty have been leveled to nothing more then a vast wasteland of death and destruction. The plains lead to the Town, Mountain of the Ages, and the Volcanic Rift. Chaotic hordes frequent the land and skies in this area. There are chaotic NPCs of great strength that traverse this area.

Mountain of the Ages - The highest and oldest mountain known. Its stands at about 32,700 feet and is a very treacherous journey to the top. Dangers involve avalanches, gusting winds, and low oxygen at the higher altitudes (Stamina is lost VERY fast at the highest altitudes no matter how lightly encumbered you are). Its also a known haven for Air Elementals, Golems, and Ogres. There is rumors of a great beast that is half goat, half bird, and half human although no one has ever lived to confirm this to be true. Many an adventurer has perished in an attempt to seek and audience with the Ancient One who resides at the top.

Volcanic Rift - A volcanic rift (located near the base of the Mountain of Ages) that was torn in the land by the Evil Sorcerer in preparation for conjuring his master, Asmodeus. The Temple of Chaos resides somewhere within the rift. Also, the Ancient Smithy now resides here to utilize the affects of the lava in his craft. This is also a very dangerous area as it has potent lava flows, earthquakes, and a great chasm (even Yen is unsure if it has a bottom). Minions of varying demons thrive here as they prepare for Asmodeus's arirval. It is said that they regularly raid the nearby areas and even the town for adventurers to sacrifice for their festering plans. (Idea is they can actually kidnap you if they defeat you in combat and unless your are rescued within a certain time frame-or you click exit-you are sacrificed and sent to the UW) It is said there is a great lava beast that dwells almost at the very bowels of the rift and is said to even rival Yang.

Temple of Chaos - Similar to the Temple of Order (Yen/Yang alike but opposites) but houses evil and chaotic NPCs of great magnitude. Within the temple is the Guardian to the Chaos Plain.

Chaos Plain - A warped and varied level of incohesion. Any land residing within the Chaos Plain has several affects on it due to the shear powers of chaos there. It is a no recall/exit zone and even the ghods cannot raise you when you die. So unless your raised by a fellow adventurer, your soul will be thrust directly into the UW. There also seems to be affects on some magics that very and shift(IE., summoned creatures like djinns, sals, efreets, and even figs may come up evil and turn on you). Both the Miontaurs Maze and Lair of Yang are in the Chaos Plain.

Minotaurs Maze - A LARGE maze that resides in the plain of Chaos and also houses the dreadful Chaos Minotaur. Within the maze somewhere is the entrance to the lair of Yang.

Lair of Yang - This is the lair of Yang and is very large for a lair along with being a spectacle beyond belief. Yang has evil lesser demons and his Sentinel which where sent by Asmodeus to aid him in his duties. Once you enter the lair, you cannot leave(save through death) until they source of the Chaos is exiled, in other words, until you defeat Yang.
